Ukrainian film festival

4 evenings - 4 prominent Ukrainian movies screened - 4 panel discussions on the topic of movie.

Local experts discussed how the war in Ukraine affects Namibia, how propaganda in media influences people and what is the role of art to prevent from future wars.

The festival took place every Wednesday in July in Windhoek in different locations that have gladly agreed to host us at their venues:

Happy to introduce you our discussion panelists:

- Dennis Schroeder, director of Goethe-Institut Namibia 
- Adriano Visagie, actor and activist
- Michelle Isaak, artist
- Ina-Maria Shikongo, artist and climate-justice activist whose works were showcased in Glasgow and Stockholm
- Florian Schott, filmmaker
- Lavinia Kapewasha
- Undjee Reggie Zaire, videomaker, owner of a creative agency RFC

We had the exhibition of Ukrainian artist Aljoscha, live guitar performance, live performance with sopilka, raffled prizes from Zannier Hotels Omaanda and MYNT Nightclub Windhoek and enjoyed some Ukrainian food.

On our Closing ceremony special guest was H.E. Ambassador of Ukraine to SA Liubov Abravitova who came especially for this event to participate in the discussion about the impact of the war in Ukraine on Namibia. 
Among other highlights we had video greetings from the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko.
