Never underestimate the power of art.

Folks can help Ukrainians by purchasing art work created by Namibian artists under the theme of sunflowers; through the “Sunflowers show” exhibition at Cosdef Arts & Crafts Center, Swakopmund, from 24 Feb till 14 April.

Everyone is welcome to attend the opening night on 24 February from 5 p.m.

Program:
17:00 - 17:15 - Arrival, welcome drink provided by Gellert Unlimited Hospitality Solutions
17:15 - 17:25 – Welcoming – Jessica le Grangé
17:25 - 17:35 - Opening address: Beatrice Schultz
17:35 - 18:00 - Participants awarding (handing out certificates, three top winners prizes from Bead World, Scrapbooking Namibia, Art Stop Namibia + one audience award from Bead World, main prize drawing for the participants from Charly's Desert Tours)
18:00 - 18:20 - Auction of a few masterpieces (led by Austin Dienst)

18:20 - 18:40 - Q&A section with Ukrainians
18:40 - 19:00 - Viewing and purchasing of artworks, discussion your favourite artwork with its creator, win-win raffle (including gift-vouchers from Gondwana Collection Namibia, Otto Günther, Little Foot Nursery)
19:00 - 23:00 - Delicious Ukrainian cuisine at the Memphis Barbeque and Blues restaurant available

This is a pop-up group exhibition focusing on the sunflower motif interpreted through artists’ varying perspectives.

The Sunflower, or Soniashnyk in Ukrainian, has taken on new layers of meaning, emerging as a global symbol of resistance, unity, and hope. The show aims to gather a community of artists to stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

We are collecting artwork of all types (new/ preloved/ framed/ unframed).
You can donate an art work where 100% of funds raised go to the charity, or sell a work, where the funds are shared 50/50 between the artist and charity. We are open to disscuss your proposal.

Last date of submission: 21st February, 2023 by 5PM.

Your artwork can be anonymous upon request.

If you are going to do a Sunflower masterclass, tell us about it, we will highlight it in our news and also your event will be covered with a photo shoot, free of charge, by Olga's PhotoDesign (in Swakopmund).

With the arts industry gaining popularity in Namibia, this could definitely be a great opportunity for exposure.
