Bikers Stand for Freedom

On March 25, 2022 in Swakopmund, Namibia took place a public event in support of Ukraine and raising awareness about what Ukraine is and who Ukrainians are.

The goal of this event on March 25 was to introduce a few elements of the Ukrainian culture to the local people, Ukrainian cuisine as well, to show Ukrainian people as a peace-loving nation passionate about their land and a freedom-loving nation ready to defend it. Ukraine has a national identity, rich with culture. We think that now more than ever we absolutely need to show our culture and traditions all over the world. Ukraine is open and welcoming to everyone who comes to us with peace and with the open hearts regardless of ethnicity, nationality, race, color of the skin, religion etc.
The event was initiated by Anna Grechishkina, solo female traveler around the world on a motorcycle. During all her travels around the world she always tried to demonstrate the same things – curiosity and respect towards differences and peculiarities in this world which kept Anna busy exploring it for more than eight years, while always keeping the Ukrainian flag on her bike.
"We have so much to give and we do not claim what doesn’t belong to us. We love our land, we have a strong spirit, we value our freedom." - Anna Grechishkina.
Thank you very much Anna! Was so interesting and informative speech. As people say "your message was powerful and honest and truthful".

"Ukrainian dance is a window for the soul". Carmen Waldeck and her Dance Factory Swakopmund cc impressed us with the Ukrainian dance which they learned just in a few days, and even organized costumes with the Ukrainian elements!
Metelytsya - “Snowstrom” (Ukrainian: мeтeлиця) is a popular folk dance from Ukraine. In the past the Metelystia was danced to only choral accompaniment. In the late 19th and early 20th century besides singing the song, it was accompanied by the bandura.

We also introduced our Ukrainian cuisine, and Lutz Feddersen & the restaurant Fachwerk kindly agreed to cook a few dishes according to the recipes which we provided them. Those were our Ukrainian borsch, golubtsci, nalisniki and pampushki. We were so looking forward to taste Ukrainian food, and were not disappointed at all, as well as other guests according to their feedback.
The restaurant did not set prices for meals, people paid as much as they wanted and all collected profits that have been handed over to us by Lutz Feddersen were donated to humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

The security of the event was provided by the Coastland Safety & Security Services, and of course, their presence added to our peace of mind during the event. Luckily everything went smooth and safe.
