Creating this calendar was a journey that spanned four years, filled with countless evenings and mornings under the full moon. Each month features a Swakopmund landmark, bathed in the ethereal glow of moonlight, capturing the essence of these places in a way that daylight never could.

It all started with a simple idea: to showcase the beauty of our city’s landmarks under the full moon. The first challenge was timing. The full moon only appears once a month, and capturing it in the perfect position over each landmark required meticulous planning. I spent hours researching moonrise and moonset times, calculating angles, and scouting locations.

Over the years, I faced many challenges—unpredictable weather, technical issues, and even curious onlookers who wondered why I was out so late in the evening (or early morning) with my camera. But each obstacle only made the final product more rewarding. The calendar is not just a collection of photos; it’s a testament to patience, perseverance, and the beauty that can be found when you look at familiar places in a new light.

Every time I look at the calendar, I’m reminded of the journey it took to create it. Each photo tells a story, not just of the landmark, but of the night it was captured. And I hope that when people see it, they feel a little of the wonder and awe that I felt standing there, under the full moon.
